“The last supper was treasured by Jesus. When we prepare the meal behind the scene with no thanks, then we share with him in this time of holiness.”St. A' Christmas altar

The Altar Guild prepares the Eucharistic meal in total anonymity. There is something holy in such a preparation which comes without public recognition. In addition to preparing the altar for each Eucharist, the Altar Guild also dresses the altar and decorates the church for Easter, Christmas, baptisms, weddings, confirmations, funerals, and all other church activities and celebrations. The Altar Guild also washes and keeps the linens used in all the services of the church, including the private communions taken to our shut-ins and those hospitalised.

The Guild consists of 4 groups providing coverage on a rotating basis. There is an organizational meeting in November. Anyone desiring to serve in this special manner and learn the history, identity, and proper placements of the various elements used to dress the altar are encouraged to contact Jill or Dick Polhamus at jilly1939@comcast.net or calling the church secretary.
